On a constrained site in St Kilda, this seven-level plus rooftop apartment building posed substantial construction methodology challenges. The building consisted of eighteen apartments plus two penthouses over two levels plus a large rooftop deck and spa area. The development also boasted a communal pool on the fifth level. Due to construction works on the adjoining site and a limited street frontage, part of the structure was staged to facilitate a laydown and crane location. Construction was predominantly precast walls and insitu concrete floors and roof. The high specification, architecturally designed building had the added challenge of varied floor layouts, requiring careful planning of structural load transfer and sequencing of completion works.
